Salt Cave Therapy for Kids
There is nothing more frightening feeling than having a hard time getting your breath. As a parent, watching a child with breathing problems is twice as difficult.
The most common medical problems of the childhood are respiratory problems.
The most common symptoms are cough, sore throat, earache, blocked nose, sneezing, hoarseness, wheezing, chest tightness and breathlessness.
Did you know that most of these symptoms are the result of the function of the inner lining of the respiratory system?
This lining is called mucous membrane and is lining the surface of the nasal passageways, voicebox, trache(airtube), bronchial tube system (conducting airways of the lungs). Mucous membranes line all of the bony surfaces of the sinus cavities. Mucus is a clear slippery fluid that coats the respiratory membranes of the sinuses, nose and lungs. Mucus consists of water, blood cells, digestive enzymes, salt, antibodies, dead cells, bacteria and other microorganisms and foreign pollutants. The surface of this membrane is lined with microscopic cilia. These constantly moving hairs sweep mucus from the sinus cavities into the nasal passageway, from the nasal space down to the throat and from the lungs upward to the throat.
This lining and the underlying tissue contain one of the largest local immune systems of our body. Its role is to protect the respiratory system from harmful infections, pollutants, volatile chemicals etc.
How does the mucous membrane and the immune system work?
In most of the respiratory problem we find changes on this fine, senstitive membrane.
